Every little girl wants to be a Disney princess when she grows up, but how many actually realize that dream? Well, one of my brides, Jessica, did just that! She spent a season in Orlando extending the promise of that wish to all of the wide-eyed little girls visiting Disney World with that vision. And when I recently had the pleasure of photographing Jessica's engagement session, she looked just like a princess - only this time, she was with her real life prince, Aaron.
Coastal sand dunes are a very unique, naturally occurring phenomenon. The Great Lakes in the Midwest United States have a very special dune ecosystem which border almost their entire, massive coastline. People in Michigan know they have hit that blessed area known as "up north" once they start to see the dunes. If you have ever tried to climb up or down a set of dunes, you know that they are a challenge in both directions, and the view from the top is always the best for m
Happy Monday everyone! People have always been attracted to shiny things - searching for them, collecting them, and showing them off (*cue Gollum’s “my precioussssss”). Especially in the form of jewelry. They sparkle, they make us feel pretty (or handsome!), and they are often seen as a mark of wealth and privilege. The first diamond engagement ring dates back to the 15th Century; but back then, wearing diamonds and other gemstones was exclusive to the world of aristocrac
Jenna's three requests for engagement session with the love of her life were: water, sunset, and intimate moments. What a wonderful combination to celebrate the love of these two beautiful souls! Jenna and Ryan have been together for almost a decade, sharing so many triumphs and struggles together. They both knew that they would eventually be planning their wedding, but Ryan still managed to pull off a surprise holiday proposal to Jenna -paired with an absolutely stunning
Happy Monday! I hope that your day has begun on a great note, and am happy to be spending some fun time together to kick off the week! Last Thursday, I had the enormous pleasure of taking my husband and my parents to see the music icon, Bob Seger, before a hometown crowd. The four of us have a long and impressive list of live concerts we have attended, and we have all been huge fans of Bob Seger his entire career, so it is rather strange that none of us had seen him live b
Happy New Year everyone!! 2018 has been a wonderfully crazy year! I had the honor and privilege of capturing wedding day memories for amazing couples, the magic of which will now last forever! Each couple had wildly different themes, color palettes, and styles which truly reflected their personalities and their love for each other. We battled weather extremes together, I put tons of miles on my Jeep, and we had lots of laughs along the way. I could not possibly choose
Located less than 10 miles from Detroit Metro Airport, I have driven by the City of Taylor countless times. But I had no idea that it harbors one of the most beautiful open air conservatories I have ever seen. Sitting on 7 acres of incredible landscaping, natural wooded and grassy areas, with an adjacent petting farm (!), the conservatory is filled with a full variety of annuals, perennials, and succulents. On the day we were scheduled to be there for Ashley’s summer brida
Some couples compliment each other so well that they are a dream to photograph! That was my recent couple's portrait session with Dani & Denni (even their names are a perfect match!). The evening that I spent with this wonderful couple was fun and lighthearted and relaxed - all of the goals of a portrait session with Bamboo Dreams Photography! Getting them to look happy and in love took zero effort because it was clear every time they looked at each other. Super easy-go
