Located less than 10 miles from Detroit Metro Airport, I have driven by the City of Taylor countless times. But I had no idea that it harbors one of the most beautiful open air conservatories I have ever seen. Sitting on 7 acres of incredible landscaping, natural wooded and grassy areas, with an adjacent petting farm (!), the conservatory is filled with a full variety of annuals, perennials, and succulents. On the day we were scheduled to be there for Ashley’s summer bridal portrait session, it had been pouring all day long, but the rain stopped and the sun came out just in time to cast a breathtaking glow on the evening. This pocket of beautiful is the perfect place to escape for a few hours to capture gorgeous wedding photography!
Ashley was stunning in her off-the-shoulder, floor-length lace gown, accompanied by minimal jewelry providing just the right amount of silver accents. She looked like an angel wandering through the garden, with her easy smile and appreciation for the surrounding wonders during her portrait session. And, because your special day is only complete if your besties are there with you, super sweet Naiki came along for the portrait session. She was so photogenic in her very own festive puppy floral necklace that she almost stole the show from the bride!
One of the things that Michigan does really well is summer fruit - especially the multiple kinds of berries which grace our fields for a few glorious months. Cherries, blackberries, red and black raspberries - these tasty treats are a colorful way to brighten up any meal or party! Ashley’s bridal portraits concluded at an amazing sweetheart table, complete with floral garland in a color palette which matched the berries and accompanying desserts perfectly! And the cake – decadently garnished with macarons – was something straight out of a dream! The table was stylishly adorned with vintage stemware and place settings, fitting for a wedding of elegant proportion.
This was a perfect summer evening, with bridal portraits reflecting extraordinary, coordinated creative vision. I was thrilled to be a part of capturing it come to life, and I cannot wait to see what comes next!
